Who will be crowned the King of Football?

As the club football season approaching the end and World cup looming there is always a topic who will lift the world cup.

I couldnt see anyone other than the perennial giants lifting the world cup which includes Brazil,Germany,Spain,Italy and Argentina...lets analyse the strengths and weakness of the teams who are considered as favorites.

Brazil:

When it comes to football you cant imagine a world cup without brazil such is the talent of their football.I havent been to brazil or any of those football playing nations but what i heard from my one of my friend who relocated to brazil last year, in Brazil, Football is their religion and is played in every nook and corner of streets ,roads etc...Brazil may not have the socrates led 1982 team but still doesnt mean they dont lack quality.

Player who could make impact on this worldcup : Neymar,Thiago Silva

Strength: Brazil strength is built on their defence with players like silva, alves, marcelo and luiz. They are a very athletic squad who can run whole day and they all have big match experiences at the club level. Strong mid-field and a super striker in Neymar with the home support, Brazil are the No.1 favorites for this world cup

Germany:

Bundesliga may not be as popular as premier league but its getting up there. The quality of football played in germany has improved led by club heavy-weight Bayern. Most of the players who played the 2010 world cup will be there but with more maturity and purpose.

Player who could make impact on this worldcup : Schweinsteiger,Ozil,Gotze

Stregth:Probably the best squad in the worldcup with all round strength except boateng who is vulnerable. They have the best stopper in Neuer with lahm and Mertesacker backing him , it will be impossible for Germany to leak goals. Attacking midfielders led by schweinsteiger and with the stike force upfront ,Germany has the squad to wind the world cup. The tricky match would be the potential match with Brazil in the Semi-Finals. If they get their tactics right they will wind the worldcup with supremely conditioned atheletes.

Spain:

Spain will probably field almost the same squad as 2010 team but Puyol. Puyol will be a big miss especially against Brazil or Germany.

Player who could make impact on this worldcup : Iniesta,Isco and Diego Costa

Teams have found the way to counter the famous tikki-takka play and has been exposed by fast attacking German teams when bayern hammerd Barcelona. The biggest problem is their defence even Pique and Ramos around. Spain are not known for pouring goals and with the defence they are vulnerable.

They could potentially play Brazil in the second round if they fail to top the Group and that would be a disaster for Spain but it could go other way as well..

Argentina ,uruguay, portugal  and Italy have strong squads but i dont see them winning the title even with Argentian having Messi in their ranks.

Potential Winner : Brazil with home court advantage followed by Germany,Spain and Argentina

Who will win the Men's French Open Roland Garros 2014

So the Roland Garros is around the corner.Who will taste the victory in the red dirt this year.

Its hard to imagine anyone winning the title when fully fit Nadal is around but this year things could change. Who are the prime candidates to win the title? Djokovic,Wawrinka or could be even Federer if the draw is kind to him and if Nadal loses somewhere before quarter-finals.

Nadal:
He is expected to win every year when he is fit, but last 3 years things have slightly changed and this si going to be his toughest title defence. Djokovic was peaking but infortunately he had a wrist injury and hopefully its not that big.
Nadal has stregth, stamina, endurance and all the ingredients in his armoury to win the title. Having said that age is starting to catch up with him. 2 loses in clay in year would not be an issue for a good player but for Nadal it is something he has work on.His confidence should be down especially after losses in Aussie Open, Miami, monte carlo and barcelona...He could meet Wawrinka in the semis which would be blockbuster semi-finals ,Nadal's fiery forehand against the beauty of Warinka backhand.

Djokovic:

Djokovic was hit with Wrist injury during Monte carlo semis against Federer. He is now playing in Madrid means he has recovered. He was on a terrrific form after the Aus open winning couple of Harcourts master 1000 series in US. He has been on the verge of winning the French for the last 3yrs but federer had other ideas in 2011 and Nadal was lucky to win last year. Wawrinka could spoil the Djokovic party .Djokovic will feel confident in beating nadal but Wawrinka.

Wawrinka:

Wawrinka has been making in-roads to the top four since last jan Australian open and finally did it this year in the Aus open. I expect him to reach atleast semifinals but he has to beat Nadal and Djokovic in semis and finals whihc is a  tough ask in clay. He fancies beating both of them but nadal could prove to be a tough one. Over 5 sets with a single backhand against djokovic and Nadal could prove to be a big ask.

We cant dismiss Federer not just he is federer but he could have been one of the best clay court players of all time if nadal was born in a different era. Federer problem will be Nadal and i dont think he could be Nadal in clay with age coming in to play as well..

Djokovic to beat Nadal in 4 sets

Is Nadal on the verge of decline

Tennis is a sport where your mental strength is as important as your physical fitness.Over the last two decades i have seen some of the physical phenomenons in tennis namely Courier,Agassi and so on.In the current generation including Federer we have some of the guys who have redefined the word endurance.

Djokovic and Nadal.

There is no match for Nadal's and Djokovic mental strength but even then ,when they were pushed to the ropes they tend to suffer.. Nadal couldn't really get on top of djokovic since 2011, He has beaten Djokovic but all had something else. Djokovic could have crushed Nadal in the last year USOPEN hadn't he made those errors in the 3rd set. If you watch the 3rd set of 2013 US open final, you will know what i am talking about. Nadal was made to run like a marathon man and scrambling for the balls, but he had the fighting spirit to come out. Djokovic beat Nadal 3 times in a row after that and quite convincingly.

Nadal would have been beaten by Dmitrov in the 2014 Aussie open quarters but he managed to pull through, lost to Dolgopolov ,Djokovic  in the Masters in US(Indian wells and Miami). Those things would not have on the panic button in Nadal's camp but now with defeats in clay Nadal will be really struggling for confidence,But we all know Nadal who is known to come from adversaries but this time it will be too much,
He is not getting younger anymore, muscles tend to give up early and when they to start to crack and you are mentally done, Its the other way around as well.

Now Nadal is losing in the territory where no can could literally touch him for the last years and i believe the time has come.

Federer could play top tennis  for a long ,long time just only becuase his game was built around his various arsenal's in the Tenns Armoury. He is still phenomenally fit and can challenge these guys at this age of 32.

Nadal could have run/spent more time than Federer in the court if we compare their stats. The same goes with Djokovic but its slightly built around an aggressive game than Nadal.

With Madrid and Rome coming in May , Nadal needs confidence another defeat would send alarming signals in his camp and mind . A defeat by Djockic in French Open would literally melt Nadal.

Out of his 60 plus singles titel 40 odd came from Clay, Clay gives him confidence for the rest of year and any defeat further  would mean Nadal is on the Verge of Decline. He can still comeback but dont expect miracles. He may win 1 or 2 more grandslams but anything more than that would mean something special if he is not special now.
